An Oregon dog missing for more than three years is back home again with its owner.

Dana Harlow said after his beagle, Copper, escaped from his home back in late 2006, he never thought he'd see her again. After a few months of driving around, posting flyers and talking with local people, he feared the worst for Copper. All that changed a few days ago, when the two were reunited thanks to a local vet who found a chip in the animal's neck.

"Right after the hospital called and said, 'You know, we found your dog. You have one missing, eight-year-old beagle named Copper?' We were just totally shocked," said Dana Harlow, pet owner.

Hikers found Copper more than 30 miles away in a forest.
