RUSH CENTER, Kan. (AP) — A 52-year-old La Crosse man died after being electrocuted in an oilfield in southern Ellis County.
Sheriff Ed Harbin says Darrell F. Irvine was pronounced dead Monday after being taken to Hays Medical Center.
Harbin says Irvine was unloading fiberglass tanks about a half mile north of the Rush County line when the mechanical boom he was operating came into contact with an overhead power line.
Harbin says Irvine's co-workers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him but he died about an hour after the accident.
