Man in Ice Cream Child Sex Case Pleads Not Guilty
KANSAS CITY, MO. - A 60-year-old Kansas City man accused of sedating young girls and then taking seminude pictures of them has pleaded not guilty to three counts related to child pornography.

James Phillips Edwards appeared Thursday in U.S. District Court on charges of advertising child pornography over the Internet, attempted distribution of child porn over the Internet and possession of child porn.

Federal prosecutors allege that Phillips laced ice cream and soda with a sedative to make underage girls lose consciousness, then took pictures of them.

Investigators say Phillips told them in a videotaped interview that society places arbitrary lines -- such as age restrictions -- around sexual conduct, and he doesn't agree with them.
