A Leavenworth mother whose son was killed has been charged with child endangerment.
Leavenworth County prosecutors announced the charge Friday in the case against Monica Rivera.
Her boyfriend, Jason Lee Jones, was charged previously with felony murder in the Oct. 4 death of Gabriel Rivera of Leavenworth. Doctors suspect the 4-year-old was severely abused.
Prosecutors said that Monica Rivera recklessly placed her son at risk of injury or death from February to October.
