Fight With Football Team Injures KU Guard Taylor
LAWRENCE, Kan. - A sophomore point guard for the Kansas Jayhawks won't be playing any basketball for a few weeks. The Lawrence Journal-World reports that Tyshawn Taylor hurt his thumb in a fight between the basketball team and the football team.

The fight happened around 6:30 Tuesday night, right on campus. Taylor wrote on his Facebook page that he dislocated his left thumb when he threw a punch.

KU coach Bill Self was not available to comment, but the Athletic Department is investigating, along with police, who aren't saying much either.

Taylor went to the hospital where he was treated and released.

As a freshman, Taylor was KU's third leading scorer, averaging nearly ten points per game.

He's expected to be out for at least three to four weeks. The basketball season starts with Late Night in the Phog on October 16 and the team's first game is November 3 against Fort Hays State.
