Angry Driver Plows into Pedestrians, Killing One
NORTHMOOR, MO - One person is dead and three others were injured when a vehicle plowed into a group of people in Northmoor, Mo.

"It's just a sleepy little town, 15 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes from downtown Kansas City," said Charlie Frazier, resident.

Police Chief Larry Davis said the incident occurred just after 2 a.m. after an argument between two groups of people near Frontier and Vivion Road.

"The two folks, boyfriend/girlfriend, were gonna meet to talk out some of their problems," said Frazier. "Apparently some other folks showed up and it kind of went south from there."

Police said a fight broke out, and once that was over, one man jumped into his truck and plowed into four people standing along the side of the road. Police said the suspect drove away but was arrested about an hour later.

For tiny Northmoor, it's shocking news. Two people who wished not to be identified aid the whole thing has been unnderving.

"I don't know if we've never had anything like that happen before. There's only five streets."

"These peaceful towns, I think they seek these peaceful towns out. These violent people."

Police said it's only the second violent death in Northmoor in the last 15 years. Still, it puts the little village in a bad light.

"I don't know that it is so much a black eye, but unfortunately it puts you in the spotlight for a period of time," said Frazier.

Police said they have a suspect in custody, a 23-year-old man from Liberty, Mo.

For now, detectives said he will likely be charged with leaving the scene of a crime that involved a death.
