Thanksgiving weekend used to be the official kick-off for the Christmas shopping season, but with the struggling economy stores are advertising for Christmas sales earlier than ever before.

FOX 4's Lori Patterson was at the Bass Pro Shop in Independence on Sunday where Santa's Wonderland opened in hopes of encouraging people to start their Christmas shopping early.
