KANSAS CITY, MO -
Slick roads may have played a factor in an accident involving a school bus full of children Monday morning. Students from Renaissance Academy started the day with an un-expected accident at 31st and Troost, in Kansas City. Three young children were taken to the hospital.
Kermitt Ferguson said he witnessed the accident. He saw a Silver SUV going Northbound on Troost collide with a school bus headed West on 31st Street. The SUV went into a tail spin and right towards a crosswalk where a man and a boy were walking.
"He was walking with the little boy and he said he could hear the accident," said Ferguson. "He jerked the kid, the bumper hit him, he slid out into the crosswalk and the boy slid towards the bus stop."
Ferguson said the man and the boy involved in the accident were shaken.
"He was crying and the guy was just as shaken," Ferguson said.
The three children that went to the hospital are expected to be okay. The rest of the students were moved to another bus and went on to school
