    • Has anyone heard the "Funk house" on the rock radio station? Seriously, if you are in the public eye and you want to make a fool of yourself you deserve what you get. The City council is correct with what they are doing. They are worrying about KC as a whole not who runs their household.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- - The wife of Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser wrote in a 2008 diary that she was frustrated and angry with City Council members, staff and others who had criticized her and her husband.

The 2008 journal kept by Gloria Squitiro was disclosed Monday as part of the discovery process in a lawsuit filed against the city, Funkhouser and Squitiro by former mayoral aide Ruth Bates.

The 35-page diary was written during a year when Squitiro's role in the mayor's office became controversial. The City Council eventually passed an ordinance aimed at keeping Squitiro from serving as a nearly full-time volunteer in the office.

In her lawsuit, Bates accused Squitiro of making racial and sexual comments in the mayor's office. The trial is scheduled to begin July 27.
