Katia Lainez
KANSAS CITY, MO. -
Family and friends said their final farewells to a murdered mother whose child became the center of an amber alert.
Katia Lainez was just 27-years-old. She loved her family especially her four-year-old daughter who is still missing.
Katia was found murdered in her Kansas City apartment just two weeks ago.
Friday, her family gathered at the Mount Washington Cemetery with friends and family sharing stories about her life.
But, they say it's not just her death that is the hard part. It's the fact that no one knows where her daughter Allyson Corrales is.
She has been missing since the day of the murder. Police in Kansas City, Missouri called for an amber alert just minutes after learning the young girl was missing. But, that amber alert has since been called off.
The TIPS Hotline has received dozens of calls. But, so far nothing has panned out.
Police are also searching for Allyson's biological father, Luis Corrales.
Katia had a restraining order against him and sole custody of her daughter. Family members say they feared he would do something bad to them.
Police are still just considering him a person of interest.
