KANSAS CITY, MO - Two suspected drunk drivers made it a rough morning for a 24-year-old Kansas City police officer. The officer was injured Friday near 83rd and Troost around 3:40 a.m. when he was investigating the first suspected drunk driver.

The officer was standing near the vehicle when another drunk driver, a female, approached and tried to pass on the grass to the right. The female drunk driver hit the first drunk driver's car and that car clipped the officer, knocking him down.

The female driver's car spun out and went down a gully. Both drivers were arrested. The officer was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

FOX 4's Kathy Quinn is on the scene and will have more information throughout the morning. Refresh this page for updates.
