A Shawnee man has been charged with attempted rape after he allegedly attacked a woman in a parking garage at the Ameristar Casino Nov. 1. Prosecutors said Manoxay J. Salivanh, 37, followed a 23-year-old woman into the stairwell and tried to rape her.
Someone heard the victim's screams and stopped the attack. Surveillance cameras show Salivanh push the victim against a wall and attempt to pull her pants down. Ameristar security officers arrested Salivanh Sunday, Nov. 8 after he returned to the casino wearing clothes similar to that of the attacker from the week before.
