Police: Metro Man Peeped on Own Family in Shower
KANSAS CITY, MO - A Clay County man has turned himself in to authorities to face charges that he spied on his own female family members with a hidden camera in the bathroom.

Elvon Arndt, 64, is charged with invasion of privacy after police investigating child pornography allegations said they found images and videos of several female family members in various stages of undress before and after showering on a home computer. According to police, the images include a 27-year-old, and 18-year-old and an 11-year-old girl.

"Oh my goodness, that's horrifying, that is just absolutely horrifying," said neighbor Cassie Lammers. "I've got a 7-year-old daughter and who's to say that he won't come after her?"

Investigators believe that the secret video recording went on from September of 2005 through April of 2008. According to the probable cause statement Arndt's wife, who refused to press charges, stated that "she is not comfortable having pictures taken while she is dressed, so she would definitely not want pictures taken while she was naked."

"If I had children and it was happening to my children, we would be out of that house in a New York minute," said neighbor Beverly Brundridge, who said she was stunned by Arndt's wife's refusal to press charges.

Elvon Arndt is due back in court on Wednesday. His bond was set at $5,000.
